Well at least it would be two players who are TRYING to play the game. Neither of them really know the game very well at all, so they have been limping their way through, making horrible mistakes along the way, but like I said, they have stuck together with the exception of a couple of bumps in the road when Matt thought Jag was playing him.
I think the power week was difficult for Matt because he really wasn't sure WHAT to do. He told Cirie because he trusts her (per Reilly's instructions) and that was during a time he was questioning Jag a little bit. I think he avoided talking to Jag because he is a horrible liar and didn't want Jag to know about the power until he decided what to do with it. He spent time with Cirie trying to figure out the vote because he was only going to use it if Jag didn't have the votes.
I thought he could tell production he wanted to use it on Jag, but if Blue was the one evicted he would retain that power, but they had a discussion about it a couple of weeks ago that he actually would have forfeited the power if he used it on someone who was NOT actually evicted. He wanted to save Jag the whole time, but couldn't get a handle on the votes and even stopped campaigning to help Jag at the time.
I can buy your conspiracy theory about Matt and Jag being a "theme final 2" which seems to be the narrative BB wants to sell since the cookout, but if that is the case, it is only a recent thing because they sure weren't helping Jag much early in the game when the hope was a Cirie/Jared final.
Truth be told, I think they are also looking at Cirie and Felicia being a final 2 because they are the "old ladies in the house" and they are POC's, so it would be a win-win for them. And we may laugh or groan about that right now, but they do seem to know their facts from the game and I am not sure that others in the house know that stuff as well. All it takes is a couple of well placed mental comps with no physical aspect at all and they are sitting pretty.
